EHCP Plus: Reflecting on 2024 and Shaping the Future for 2025

2024 has been a breakthrough year for EHCP Plus. We’ve grown, co-developed, piloted, and expanded this innovative tool alongside local authority partners, gaining invaluable insights at every step. These lessons have helped us refine not only EHCP Plus itself but also the critical, holistic approach that ensures its success.

We’ve learned that achieving meaningful impact requires addressing EHCPs in the wider context of SEND law, local authorities’ graduated response strategies, and broader SEND improvement work.

As we look to 2025, our ambition grows even stronger. A large winter cohort of local authorities is ready to start, and our spring cohort is already forming. We’ve adapted our trial approach to better support colleagues, ensuring EHCP Plus succeeds in every local area we work with.

This year has reinforced that EHCP Plus is not just a tool—it’s part of a broader change journey, bringing strategic consultancy, behaviour and culture change, and generative AI-powered solutions together.

We’ve also seen the importance of engaging the wider SEND system. To achieve lasting impact, EHCP Plus must work in harmony with schools, teachers, parent carer forums, and national organisations. We’re excited to deepen these collaborations in 2025, building stronger connections and aligning efforts across the SEND landscape.

One critical question we’ve grappled with this year is: 'What makes a good EHCP?' While discussions about a national template are ongoing, the real challenge lies in defining and delivering the best content. This is a key area we’ll focus on in 2025, bringing together local authority colleagues through our collaborative shared learning events to drive innovation and consistency in EHCP processes.

EHCP Plus is more than just an AI product; it’s a movement to transform how we approach SEND support. Together, we’ll make 2025 a year of even greater impact for children, families, and SEND professionals.
